If you wan this look, ask your stylist for lots of long layers on shoulder-length hair, says Naz Kupelian, Rusk celebrity hairstylist at . The ends have a lot of texture, giving hair volume. To style, blow-dry your hair straight and smooth. Then, apply a small amount of glossing cream to tame flyaways and give your hair shine. Next, take a hot flat-iron and iron the tips of hair away from the sides for a modern-day flip. Polish with a little wax to hold the shape. Finally, pull long side bangs to one side and slightly behind one ear, bringing the under-section of hair toward your chin.

"This is the 'lob' a.k.a. the longer bob. It hits at the shoulders or slightly below," says Kupelian. Ask for slightly longer layers at the salon to create this bobbed goddess look. To style, first douse roots with a volumizer and blow-dry hair as normal. Then, set in hot rollers, rolling vertically along the length of the roller to ensure soft, sculpted waves. Once set, brush out your hair with a paddle brush without tugging too hard on the ends. Sweep hair to one side for a deep part and spritz with a curl-defining spray. To help define the front wave, pin along the curve in a couple places — one or two will work fine — and tuck the shorter parts behind your ear.

This is a basic bob with choppier, longer layers in the back, giving it an elegant angle in the front. "A bold style with soft features, I would add layers around the ears while staying longer around the crown," says Kupelian. To style, blow-dry with a round brush, combing the ends under. Smooth the top with a glossing lotion and part your hair above the pupil of one eye. Sweep a 1-inch section of the part behind the ear and fasten with a bobby pin. Apply a small amount of wax to the ends of hair, pulling them slightly forward. The curls look great even when you brush your hair behind your ears.

To get Jessica Alba's look, first do a rough blow-dry with your hands. Then, take five sections of hair. One should be about three inches wide on top of your head, and it should go back to the crown like a mohawk. Part the rest of the hair into four remaining sections: the hair on each side of the mohawk and two sections in the back. Wrap each section in a medium-size round brush and blow the hair away from your face. Finish blow-drying your five sections, and then touch up each section with a 2-inch curling iron. Finally, shake your hair out, loosening it with your fingers, and finish with holding spray, says Joshua Gambrell, celebrity stylist at in New York City.

First thing you want to do is give the bangs lift and smooth them out by blow-drying them with a flat boar bristle brush, says Gambrell. Once you've done that, blow-dry the rest of your hair, giving the roots as much lift as possible by rough blow-drying your hair in the opposite direction so it doesn't fall. Once it's about 50% dry, use a flat boar bristle brush and, starting at the nape and working up towards the crown, smooth 2-inch sections of hair out from root to end. Finish with a shine mist.

This style lifts lightly at the crown and has some movement, which is perfect for day or night. To get Kate's sleek look, ask your stylist for medium to long layers and long side bangs. Bevel the ends so they naturally curl under. Wash and add light argan oil to ends. Blow-dry with a large round brush in sections, giving special lift to the roots and crown. Sweep bangs to one side and tuck the other side behind the ear. Secure with a bobby pin and cover with remaining hair, says Kupelian.

First, do a rough pre-dry with your hands. Then, dry 3-inch sections with a round brush, from bottom to top until you get to hair around the crown, which you should blow forward, says Gambrell. Next, finger comb the top sections of your bangs back to give you a little root lift (but don't overdo it). Lastly, blow-dry your bangs to the side.

Pre-dry your hair with a diffuser while scrunching the hair from the ends toward the scalp. Once your hair is half-dry, separate it into three sections. Picture a line starting at one ear, going around the crown and ending at your other ear: Two sections will be on either side of your part and the third section will be the entire back. Starting from the back of your head, take 1-inch sections of hair. Twist each section, bottom first, around your finger and let that hair fall, says Gambrell. Do the same for each side section so you have a ringlet look. If your hair is really curly, let it air-dry at this point, but if it's only wavy, use a diffuser to get it dryer. Once you have the hair set, shake it loose a little bit and let it air-dry the rest of the way.

First, pre-dry your hair about halfway. Then, take 3-inch sections, starting at the nape of your neck and working your way up, and blow-dry your hair. Point the dryer down and keep a flat boar bristle brush underneath your hair to add shine and smoothness. Once you have the bottom dry, blow the top forward and use your fingers to position your hair, says Gambrell. If you have really wavy hair, touch it up with a flat iron at the end.

To achieve Natalie's look, first blow-dry the bangs totally dry to eliminate cowlicks. Use a small, round brush and put the bangs on top of the brush, rolling it forward and down, recommends Gambrell. "But you don't want the brush too close to the roots or you'll get too much lift," he says. "You want just a little bend in the bangs." Then, rough blow-dry the rest of your hair about 50% before using a large round brush on 2-inch sections, starting at the nape and working up toward the crown. Smooth out the hair, but don't take away the body. To do this, put the hair on the round brush with the blow-dryer pointing down for a smoothing effect. Finish with a little shine spray and hairspray if it's humid out, but don't over-style.

Annette Bening

"Annette's trademark short hair is punk rock and soft at the same time," says Kupelian. "The pixie look is modernized with choppy pieces, adding height and volume to the top of the head especially if you have fine hair." To achieve her look, ask your stylist for lots of texture with a little bit of length over the ears and on the top of the head. "I'd say about 3½ to 4 inches," he says. This look is simple and can be dried by hand or with a blow-dryer without a brush. When almost dry, take a round brush to finish, giving volume and height to the crown. Since the cut is choppy, it's fast and easy to style. Rub some wax in between your palms and piece it through your hair with your fingertips. "The more disheveled the better!" adds Kupelian.

"This would be a longer look if we straightened it completely," says Kupelian. "The length is up to you, but it works best with shoulder-length hair with long, sexy layers." To get the look yourself, first wash with a shine-enhancing shampoo and conditioner and apply an anti-frizz serum into towel-dried locks. If your hair isn't curly, add texture with a curl-enhancing beach spray. Dry hair either naturally or with a blow-dryer, section by section. When hair is completely dry, spritz again with a curling agent and go through your entire head with a medium- to large-barreled curling iron. Hold the iron vertically and let the spirals fall straight down. Finish with a mist of extra-hold hairspray and let sit. Separate curls slightly and pull a few to the front of your face. Section the sides back, holding with bobby pins.

"This is a great shorter cut for fine hair. It's chic and low maintenance," says Kupelian. "This chin-length bob boasts extra length in the front for a very wearable look." For thicker hair, ask for a choppy texture at the ends. Shampoo and condition as normal, and apply a few drops of shine serum to wet hair. Blow-dry, alternating between a flat brush and a round brush, then part slightly off-center.

"This basic bob is a perfect low-maintenance look that can be dressed up in an instant," says Kupelian. Ask your stylist for slightly longer layers in the front and volume around the crown. A cut right below the jaw line works best for this cut. To create Maggie's fun look, blow-dry with a round brush and use a large-barrel curling iron to create some beautiful curls. Separate the curls with your fingers, creating volume at the ends. A wax or polish works best to keep the curl.
