After a high-speed car chase that ended with a police escort to the delivery room, a Fort Dodge, IA, woman delivered her fourth child.
At about 2 A.M. on Tuesday, Rachel Kohnen woke her husband Ben to take her to the hospital. She told him on their way there, "This is not like the others; this is happening now."
While going 35 mph over the 55 mph speed limit, a the couple. Kohnen insisted that her husband not slow down, and he obliged even though he wanted to pull over.
The officer on their tail called for backup while the couple called 911, but spikes had already been laid down to blow out all four of the speeding car's tires and finally stop the vehicle. The Kohnens were held at gunpoint until the officers realized why they were speeding in the first place and helped get the parents-to-be to where they needed to be.
"I was in the middle of the highway having contractions with guns pointed at me," Kohnen says with a laugh. About an hour after the incident, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Hazel.
