I just read—in of all places—that Goldie Hawn's grandkids call her …
While I think it's cute for Goldie & Co.—her son, Oliver, coined the term—I think it's a little too desperately-clinging-to-youth for my taste.
That said, "grandma" doesn't really seem appropriate. My parents don't look like grandparents anyway.
Still, what else do you call 'em?
So far, my mother is GG, short for Grandma Georgina, and my stepmother is Baba, which is some kind of Slavic. My stepfather is Grandpa Kev, and my father is either Brother Bill (long story) or Grandpa Fuz. (Trying saying "Fusaro"—our last name—with a Rhode Island accent and you'll figure that out.) And Rory's parents are Grandma Linda and Grandpa Marty.
I'm not sure we're all settled on those yet though.
What do your kids call their grandparents? And what do you call your grandparents?
