A lot goes into wedding day photos — you need the right location, the perfect dress and the best photographer possible. And when Patti Womer's big day came, she had everything set, including her two horses whom she wanted on-camera to honor her late father.
Womer's dad died in a four-wheeler accident last year, and Cricket and Dutch were the first horses they bought together when she was 8 years old. Now at 21, Womer saddled up looking beautiful, only to be upstaged by Cricket herself. The Paint mare seems to be having the time of her life (she's like the bridesmaid who's had a little too much wine at the reception). Take a look:
The photo, shared by photographer , has taken the Internet by storm, receiving well over 4,000 reactions.
"Honestly, my horse's smile just made the day," Womer wrote in a post. "When I saw the picture the next day, it was so unexpected — but hilarious!"
Womer told that she's convinced Cricket was trying to shake off a fly and just happened to be showing her teeth in the process, but Bendele, who has worked with animals in shoots before, claims the goofy grin was purposeful.
"It actually caught my eye initially when we first started doing the photographs," he said to Yahoo Lifestyle. "As the bride was smiling, the horse would look up and put its teeth just like that."
When it comes down to it, Womer says she "doesn't mind" having the attention on Cricket. The new bride got to tie the knot, commemorate her father and capture a bizarre moment all in one day — and that's priceless.
