All of us probably know at least one person (or we are that person!) who is completely obsessed with the German grocery store Aldi, which currently has about 1900 stores in 36 states. The store is known for being minimalist and for their low prices and high quality. In a world where there's often too much choice, it can be a welcome relief to just see two peanut butter options — smooth or crunchy. My mother is a definitely one of the superfans who regularly exclaims, "Isn't it amazing? I got it at Aldi!" And it's not just food. When I told her I was looking for a wall clock, she stopped by my house with a ginormous clock from Aldi's Huntingon Home collection. I knew there must me more to learn, so I spoke to folks over at Aldi to get some of their top shopping tips to help you maximize your shopping trip and find the best deals in the store.

1 Aldi stores are the size they are for a reason

They keep their stores small on purpose—about 12,000 square feet — so that it's easy to navigate. They only have about four or five aisles, and all stores have similar layouts so it's much easier to shop if you pop into a location that isn't your regular store. They also keep the range of their products limited (one or two types of mayo, not 12) so you can do your shopping and get out!

2 Some items are only available for a limited time

Aldi loves a surprise, so they've created Aldi Finds, which are about 100 products that are featured each week. And once they're gone, they're gone. You can get gifts and decor for the holidays, gardening items in the spring and back to school gear in late summer. So if you see something you love, grab it.

3 But sometimes Aldi Finds make the permanent collection

When Aldi Finds are a hit, the store will add them to their regular collection. Their gluten-free line and PurAqua Belle Vie sparkling water started out at Aldi Finds, but now you can buy them all the time.

4 Aldi has an even wider range of products, and they guarantee them

Aldi spent 2018 expanding their product selections — they now have 20% more items in their stores compared to 2017. They spent $5 billion to remodel their stores, so they've expanded the fresh foods they sell. And they guarantee them. If you don't love any of the Aldi-exclusive food items you buy there, the store will replace the product and refund your money.

Having you bring your own grocery bag is one of the ways the company keeps costs down. You can always buy one at checkout if you forget, or carry everything out in your arms if you insist.

"We work with wineries around the world to curate top-quality varietals at the best prices, and our selection comes from the most popular wine-growing regions globally and within the U.S.," says Aldi spokesperson Kate Kirkpatrick. Their collection includes about 80 labels — most for $10 or less — plus a rotating handful of wines through Aldi Finds.

8 They even have organic food

Their range of organic items includes fresh and ready-to-cook meat (like organic chicken breasts and marinated cilantro lime chicken breasts), pre-sliced and whole produce, salad bowls, almond milk, cow's milk, almond butter, cheese, and more. They even have vegan and vegetarian food, like kale and quinoa burgers and chickenless patties.

9 And their own line of gluten-free products
