The East Coast had a brutal winter and Mother Nature is still figuring out what kind of weather it wants for spring, so a new residency program in Hawaii is offering people the opportunity of a lifetime: escape it all, as you work and vacation simultaneously.
lets you spend eight days and seven nights in a specialized workspace on one of their six islands, including Kaua‘i, O‘ahu, Maui, Moloka‘i, Lāna‘i, and island of Hawai‘I, allowing you to maintain your daily grind — only from a much warmer location.
"The WFH program celebrates the career-minded visitor and is designed to help them connect with our culture and traditions to inspire their own aspirations," the company states on their .
Each of the six workspaces provided, which consist of a design loft, writing desk, sound space, tech lab, corner office, and location scout are conducive to the resident's needs. However, in an effort to provide a bit of life and work balance, the program encourages residents to participate in three curated activities during their stay. From off-roading through parts of the islands to taking a lava field tour, each activity is also designed to create experiences that are connected to your individual passions.
The best part? The residency program is absolutely free and the roundtrip airfare from New York to Hawaii is included. WFH residents will also save their money when it comes to meals, because the program, sponsored by Hawaii Tourism United States, gives each visitor a per diem to spend on food on drinks.
But like all good deals, there is one catch: The program is only open to people who work and live in New York. Also, all of the residents are expected to promote their stay as much as possible on social media and be open to participating in video and photo shoots set up by the Work From Hawaii team.
So, if you're still in and have no problem smiling for the cameras, to apply. You can enter to win until June 4. Aloha!
