Everyone needs a daily dose of cuteness, so we've taken it upon ourselves to grace you with this fuzzy little critter named Imogen. At just 10-months-old, the joey is stealing hearts everywhere.
Symbio Wildlife Park in Sydney, Australia, posted the video on YouTube, calling Imogen "the cutest, most adorable and affectionate koala joey." And after watching the video, we can't help but agree. Just look at those innocent eyes! Even when she's stuffing her face with some greens, she still manages to make us swoon.
Unfortunately, Imogen's story isn't all rainbows and butterflies. On the Symbio Zoo website, her harrowing journey is revealed:
"What happened was we had two koala joeys—Imogen, who was approximately 8 months of age and, Harry, who was approximately 6 months of age. Harry's mother died tragically from Leukemia leaving him orphaned. So after consulting with industry professionals, keepers decided the best way of ensuring both joeys survived and securing a happy and healthy future for them was to hand-rear the older and much stronger Imogen who had already received the vital pap, and cross surrogate the younger Harry into Kelly's (Imogen's mother) pouch."
Amazingly, both joeys are doing well. They're now learning how to be independent and explore their surroundings before being reintroduced to other koalas in the sanctuary.
We love happy endings!
