Ready to feel nostalgic, '80s kids? The "Muppet Babies" are coming back!
Disney Junior is rebooting the 1980s animated classic, which followed the playroom adventures of baby Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Bear, Gonzo, Animal, and more. They're taken care of by Miss Nanny, who will be voiced by Zootopia and Parks and Recreation starJenny Slate. (The late Barbara Billingsley of Leave It to Beaver fame played Miss Nanny in the original series.)
“I was so excited when they asked me to be Miss Nanny,” Slate says in a . “I was excited in general to hear that the Muppet Babies were returning to television. I am a lifelong Muppet fan. I watched the original show as a kid.”
Miss Nanny will only be seen from the torso down, but the pattern on her tights will change to reveal the theme of the day's story. Each episode of the show, which is geared towards kids ages 4 to 7, will feature two 11-minute segments that follow the Muppet Babies on adventures inspired by their imaginations. Miss Nanny's job is to help the Babies — and the kids watching at home — figure out how to problem solve when they run into trouble.[asset removed due to syndication rights]
