It went off the air in 1984, but years of reruns have meant that generations are familiar with the antics of roommates Chrissy, Jack, and Janet—and now it looks like the classic sitcom Three's Company will be waiting for you at your local movie theater.
According to , New Line is developing a movie based on Three's Company, with screenwriters Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein writing the script and Runaway Bride producer Robert Cort producing.
While details are scant, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing the trio dealing with online dating and social media snafus—the movie is going to be set in the '70s. And while it's hard to imagine anyone filling the shoes of original cast members Joyce DeWitt, John Ritter, and Suzanne Somers, the internet is already buzzing with casting ideas, with some suggesting that Tina Fey should play Janet and Jennifer Lawrence should play Chrissy. As for Jack, some have tossed out the ideas of Ashton Kutcher or Channing Tatum, but we'd personally love to see the late John Ritter's son in the role that won his dad an Emmy!
