These days, I don't really buy much of anything. Aside from food, rent and transportation I've learned to just say no. At first, walking through a store knowing that I wasn't going to take anything home was nearly impossible. But the more I abstained, the easier it got. I just stopped wanting stuff. Well, almost. I'm still me after all. But instead of wanting to buy everything and anything that looked cute at the time, I wanted to be sure I spent the money I'd save on something meaningful. It's sort of like when you eat healthily all day—you don't want to blow it by mindlessly eating a pint of ice cream at night.
Which is why I love . All of their products (accessories, apparel, home goods) come from communities in developing countries that enable the artists to earn a sustainable living. And everything comes with a "Goodprint" label that lets you know how the product makes a positive impact on the world, as well as a bio of the artists who made the item. I'm loving the right now (especially their price tag: $15 for a set of three).
