This jerk chicken is another winner from the new Landcruisers cookbook , and it epitomizes what's great about the device. Rub on some spices, add some barbecue sauce, turn on the cooker and you can forget about it for the next 8 hours. (That is, until that wonderful smell makes its way throughout your home.) This was so easy and so good that it's definitely going into the rotation.

I love these little boxes of spice. I don't end up with a big bottle of spice turning to tasteless dust in the drawer. I bought 2 chicken legs because the grocery store didn't offer drumsticks and pulled the skin off easily. First I rubbed 2 teaspoons spice on the legs.

Then I poured about a cup of barbecue sauce in my slow cooker and turned the legs in the sauce. I cooked the legs on low 8 hours, then served with spiced rice (rice cooked with whole cloves and a cinnamon stick) and broccoli.
