We are not the kind of people who can just "throw some burgers on the grill." We don't know how. When I try to grill burgers without doing a lot of research and watching tutorials, as I did last weekend with these , this is what happens:
I brushed the grill with oil, I swear! Also, this happens:
We did have a couple that turned out, though, and they were so delicious that I am going to make them again. My husband ate a charred one and loved it, and even my burger-averse kids split a good one and devoured it. I mixed 2 tablespoons hoisin with 1 tablespoon finely grated ginger, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and the juice of 1/2 lime. I added 1 pound ground turkey and formed it into 4 patties. Then I heated the grill to high, threw the burgers on and proceeded to maul and decimate the poor little things until I had broken every burger-grilling rule.
If you are the type of person who can just "throw burgers on the grill," do make burgers out of this mix of turkey, hoisin and lime. If you are like me, make this turkey mixture, but then study this burger tutorial before you start grilling:
